Web24 Jul 2012 · With a heavy load it's a bit slower planing with the Trophy Plus than with my Tempest Plus in 21 pitch. I agree with Propmann that the small vented hub on the Trophy Plus may give you some venting issues on a heavy rig, but in my case it's the smoothest and best handling prop I've tried. Web28 Mar 2006 · As close to 6,000 as you can get it. That motor makes it's best power in the 5,800 - 6,000 rpm range. I would prop it for 6,100 before I would 5,700. I have a friend that has a 20SS Extreme with a 225 HO on it and he says his does about 72. Don't know what his setup is or what prop he's running.

Kicks the boat on plane like nobody else I have tried, runs like a train and in turns it grabs the water fantastic. The steering is a bit heavier compared with 3-blades when passing 30 knots. I can trim the motor almost all the way without loosing grip. Web3 Sep 2011 · Super User. Posted August 22, 2011. The Tempest, across the board, is a prop that runs well with a higher outboard height. The first thing you should try is to set the jackplate at 3" to 3.5" BP and run it. You should see improvement from that alone. Web25 Nov 2010 · I considered the same prop for my 20' Champion and was told the fury does not work quite as well on the heavy boats as the tempest plus. But there are no absolutes with props. Is there a dealer in your area that has loaner props? A friend of mine borrowed a fury from a local dealer and ended up buying the loaner at a very good price. In our testing, I noted that the Tempest seemed to take less trim than the other stainless props and produced a little less lift. But the boat felt really planted and steady in the water and handled well. The Tempest will also be much more durable than an aluminum prop. Revolution 4 $691.90

Actually had a 25 Tempest as a backup prop, fwiw. I could wind the Trophy out to 6k rpms and hit 74 on gps, so wouldn't think speed will be an issue vs. a Tempest. The laser was loose on topend and would blowout in any sort of turn at full trim WOT.
