Web20 sep. 2024 · This work reviews recent advances in four major areas of microwave and millimetre-wave NDT&E, namely materials characterization, surface crack detection, imaging and sensors. The techniques, principles and some of the applications in each of these areas are discussed. WebMicrowave imaging may be considered as a method to reconstruct the spatial distribution of matter (bodies, objects) based on the electromagnetic sounding of an observation space of interest. Figure 1 demonstrates the principle. The observation space may be completely or partially surrounded by antennas.
